June 11, Fineko/abc.az. BP is focusing on training a new generation of engineers in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that BP Transformation & Technology Manager Marianna Kerimova stated this at the Technovation forum in Baku.

She added that development of human capital is one of the company's key priorities.

"In fact, transformation is not just about technology. It is more about people and human capital. The talents we develop are a core part of this process. Azerbaijan has exceptionally high-level technical specialists. The main opportunity lies in the fact that the new generation of engineers not only uses world-class technologies but also participates in creating them," Kerimova said.

She noted that BP and Azerbaijan are reliable partners and cooperate in many areas.

"BP's role in this region is to support the country at the next stage of Azerbaijan's transformation and economic development," Kerimova emphasized.

Speaking about technological transformation, she recalled that about eight years ago, the company launched its first offshore drone.

"Today, this drone inspects a closed area in just 45 minutes, whereas previously such work took weeks. This is a huge opportunity and just one of the steps of transformation," the BP representative said.

According to her, the company also actively uses digital twins.

"We have created a digital model of the entire offshore platform. Our engineers can design and plan operations through this system. For example, when changes need to be made to offshore equipment, this can be done remotely - both from the office in Baku and from anywhere in the world," Kerimova noted.
