June 10, Fineko/abc.az. Islamic banking is actively developing in Azerbaijan.
ABC.AZ informs that Javid Isayev, the head of the Deposit Center at the Kazakh bank Bank Center Credit, made the relevant statement at the X International Financial & Banking Summit held in Baku.
"For two years now, we’ve been considering the direction of Islamic banking, paying special attention to research and analytics. Our agency has been operating for 37 years, has international ratings and is one of the oldest banks in the country. We currently serve more than 3 million customers.
Our bank has a wide ecosystem: we have investment and insurance companies, as well as the BCC Hub structure, where more than 1,000 developers work creating technological solutions for both the market and internal use.
Our market research before the launch of Islamic banking showed that the Muslim audience is already wary of traditional banking brands. Therefore, we have come to the conclusion that it is necessary to create a completely new brand for this audience. As a result, a new brand called “Reza” was formed on the basis of our bank.
This is not a separate (de-affiliated) structure - it functions as an Islamic window inside the bank, but it will be presented as a separate, fully functional mobile application," he said.
