June 2, Fineko/abc.az. The capacity of green energy corridor Azerbaijan–Turkey may be tripled in the future, up to 3 GW.
ABC.AZ informs that Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Orkhan Zeynalov stated about this during a panel discussion on the second day of the Baku Energy Week.
According Zeynalovhim, at the initial stage, it is planned to export 1 GW of electricity through this interconnector.
"The project will connect the main territory of Azerbaijan with Turkey through the Zangezur Corridor. Depending on commercial and technical capabilities, its capacity may be increased to 3 GW in the future. There is significant potential in the western regions of Turkey for further transmission of electricity to European markets," Zeynalov said.
