May 22, Fineko/abc.az. Global steel production decreased to 153.4 million tons in April 2026.
ABC.AZ informs that the World Steel Association (WSA) writes about this on May 22 on the official website.
Compared with April 2025, steel production dropped by 1.9%. The organization clarified that speech is about data from 69 countries that report to the WSA.
"Global steel production in April totaled 153.4 million tons (1.9% less than in April 2025)," the Association noted.
Smelting at enterprises in Russia, other CIS countries and Ukraine fell to 6 million tons in April (minus 13.4%). In the Middle East, the decline reached 27.6% (3.7 million tons), in the European Union - 1.8% (11 million tons). At the same time, Germany increased production by 9.5% up to 3.2 million tons.
