Face recognition payment introduced on railway of Azerbaijan

May 15, Fineko/abc.az. Passengers in Azerbaijan will be able to board trains with the use of a facial recognition payment system.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) that the company introduced system SIMA Pay in public transport for the first time.

With the help of the new system, passengers will be able to pass through turnstiles faster and more conveniently on the route of the Absheron Ring Railway - at Baku and Sumgait railway stations, as well as at Koroglu station.

The technology allows passing through turnstiles without using physical cards or additional devices. To activate the service, you must use section ‘Face Recognition Pass’ in mobile application ADY Mobile.

ADY noted that introduction of Face Pay technology based on digital ecosystem SIMA Pay and integration of virtual card ADY Mobile will improve safety of rail transportation, minimize risks with biometric payments, and eliminate problems associated with card loss or lack of funds on the balance.
