April 22, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey and Qatar resume negotiations on the construction of the main gas pipeline to Europe.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to Turkish newspaper Aydınlık, that speech is about project Qatar-Turkey-Europe, which provides for the supply of natural gas via Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria with access to the Turkish gas transportation system.

The initiative to build a gas pipeline was discussed back in the early 2000s, but was frozen in 2009 due to political factors. The project received a new impetus in the context of the changing geopolitical situation in the Middle East, including in Syria.

Turkish Energy Minister A. Bayraktar is planning a visit to Doha to discuss the prospects of the project with the Qatari side.
