March 18, Fineko/abc.az. Iran intends to develop new rules for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz after the war with the U.S. and Israel.
ABC.AZ informs that Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi said this on March 18 in an interview for TV channel Al Jazeera.
According to Araghchi, this should be done to ensure safe navigation on an ongoing basis. For this, it is necessary to develop clear rules, taking into account the interests of Iran and the entire region, he stressed.
The minister believes that the countries located on its shores - Iran, Oman and the UAE - should act as guarantors of security in the Strait.
According to CNN, Iran is considering the possibility of blocking the Strait of Hormuz for all ships if their cargo is not paid in Chinese yuans.
After the US and Israeli attacks on Iran and the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz, through which up to 20% of the world's oil was transported, oil prices rose above $100 a barrel.
