March 16, Fineko/abc.az. As of March 1, 2026, the number of taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan totaled 1,690,311 people, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Tax Service (under the Ministry of Economy).

86.8% of taxpayers were individuals and 13.2% - legal entities and other organizations. Compared with Jan-Feb 2025, the overall number of taxpayers grew by 4.9%, including the number of individuals by 4.7% and legal entities by 6.3%.

The number of commercial organizations registered by March 1 was 206,250 (6.9% more than a year earlier).

In February 2026, 1,163 unitary commercial organizations were registered and of them, 91.1% had local investments and 8.9% - foreign investments. 88% of commercial organizations are registered electronically. The share of e-registration of local investment limited liability companies registered for Jan-Feb 2026 was 97.4%.

As of March 1, 2026, 92.1% of state-registered commercial legal entities have been established in the form of a limited liability company. The quantity of active commercial organizations grew by 7.4% versus Jan-Feb 2025.
