March 10, Fineko/abc.az. Indian restaurants and hotels are experiencing acute shortage of liquefied natural gas following a rise in global oil prices because of the conflict in the Middle East.
ABC.AZ reports that The Hindustan Times writes about this. In the cities of Bangalore and Chennai, the supply of commercial cylinders has almost stopped, which may force some restaurants to close.
The Government of India has introduced measures to ensure uninterrupted supply by increasing the production of LNG for domestic consumption. The country consumes about 31.3 million tons of gas annually, of which 87% is used for household needs and the rest for commercial enterprises.
