February 24, Fineko/abc.az. In January 2026, an increase in passenger traffic in the transport sector was recorded in Azerbaijan. A total of 167.8 million passengers were transported (6.8% more versus January 2025).

ABC.AZ informs that according to statistics, the majority of passengers accounted for road transport - more than 149 million passengers. This figure means a rise of 7.9% compared with January 2025.

Buses transported 142.9 million passengers (8% more than a year earlier).

The number of passengers using taxi services was nearly 6.2 million (a rise of 5% year-on-year).

In the subway, on the contrary, there is a decrease. Thus, the number of people using the metro reached 17.6 million people (2.2% less against January 2025).
