January 21, Fineko/abc.az. Since this year, the existing strategic cooperation between SOCAR Turkey, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey, and TAV Airports has moved to a new stage.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to SOCAR Turkey, that SOCAR Turkey began providing natural gas supplies to facilities at Ankara's Esenboga airport as part of the cooperation. In this regard, a cooperation agreement was signed between Fuad Ibragimov, the head of SOCAR Turkey's gas business division, and Mete Hernan, the head of the group responsible for airports at TAV Airports.

It is noted that this new stage, supported by the structure of fixed-price contracts, is aimed not only at strengthening the reliability of supplies, but also at increasing the operational sustainability of TAV Airports, as well as ensuring cost predictability. The inclusion of these facilities in SOCAR Turkey's aggregated portfolio creates the opportunity for integrated, efficient and effective management of not only electricity and natural gas supplies, but also the cogeneration facility.

It is reported that this model, which optimizes the joint supply of gas and electricity, helps strengthen the balance of the system, and the multi-level portfolio management approach offers a comprehensive energy solution that increases operational efficiency.

Ibragimov commented on the cooperation as follows: "Energy markets are already moving away from models in which gas and electricity are managed independently of each other. Today, integrated structures are gaining a competitive advantage that are able to effectively optimize these resources in a complex. This cooperation that we have established with TAV airports is practical manifestation of the integrated vision of SOCAR Turkey Energy and Gas-to-Power. With our powerful supply infrastructure, fixed-price contract mechanisms, and aggregated portfolio, we not only provide energy, but also offer additional valuable solutions that support system balance and operational sustainability."

In turn, Hernan noted that airports are critically important transport infrastructure with continuous operation: "Energy security is one of our key priorities to ensure uninterrupted operations. The agreement signed with SOCAR Turkey brings our cooperation to a higher level. Our goal is to provide the best possible travel experience for our passengers and partners. SOCAR Turkey's experience in the energy sector and the integrated approach they offer are of great importance for the sustainability of our operations."
