January 13, Fineko/abc.az. Italy is interested in increasing the capacity of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), which has become key to diversifying sources since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine.

ABC.AZ informs that since 2020, more than 40 bcm of Azerbaijani gas have entered the country through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), making Baku the second largest supplier. The Italian Government positively assesses the prospects for the expansion of SGC, provided it is economically feasible and supported by international financial institutions. TAP has increased its long-term capacity since January 1, 2026.
