09:37 - 26.12.2025

December 26, Fineko/abc.az. Oil prices drop slightly in Friday’s trading and end the week with a rise.

No trading was held the day before, as the U.S. and European stock exchanges were closed on Christmas Day.

The price of February’s Brent futures at the London ICE Futures Exchange at 9:30 a.m. is $62.19 per barrel, which is $0.05 (0.08%) lower than at the close of previous trading.

WTI crude futures for February fell by $0.02 (0.03%) to $58.33 per barrel by 9:30 a.m. at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).

Since the beginning of this week, prices for Brent and WT have increased more than by 3%.

Despite the price increase this week, both Brent and WTI crude are ending the current year with the sharpest decline since the COVID-19 pandemic due to expectations that oil supply will exceed demand next year. The price of Brent crude oil has decreased by 16% this year, and WTI by 18%.
