December 23, Fineko/abc.az. The Zangezur Corridor is crucial between Asia and Europe.

ABC.AZ informs that Turkish Assistant Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzju made the relevant statement at the II Azerbaijan-Turkey Investment Forum in Baku.

He added that the entire region considers the Zangezur Corridor as a natural and final part of the Middle Corridor and is waiting for its opening: "This corridor will connect supply chains not only between Azerbaijan and Turkey, but also between Asia and Europe. Railway line project Kars-Nakhchivan will further enhance the efficiency of the Zangezur Corridor."

The Turkish official noted that in the 21st century, trade corridors should not consist only of land and railways: "In this sense, within our Digital Silk Road Project, we are combining the telecommunications infrastructure, primarily of Azerbaijan, as well as other Turkic states, connecting the West and the East through a fiber-optic route. This connection also makes significant contribution to the energy sector. Turkey and Azerbaijan, being the central bases of stability in the global energy hub, have a vision reflecting energy security, in particular through pipelines. In other words, transport issues should also be considered from angle of energy delivery. Thanks to this, Azerbaijan has increased the number of countries to which it exports gas to 14 over the past 5 years."
