UK temporarily exempts Egyptian field Zohr with participation of Rosneft from sanctions

December 18, Fineko/abc.az. The UK has withdrawn Egyptian offshore gas field Zohr, owned by Rosneft, from sanctions for a year, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the HM Treasury.

This field was discovered in 2015 by Eni (Italy), which owns 50% of it. Rosneft has 30% of the project, and British BP and Mubadala Petroleum from the UAE are also involved in the concession.

Earlier, international projects in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan with the participation of Lukoil and Rosneft, in particular, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, Tengizchevroil, the South Caucasus Gas Pipeline and others, were exempted from UK sanctions for a year.
