December 8, Fineko/abc.az. At the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey, a key stage of preparation has been completed - the supply of rated voltage to a complete gas distribution unit 400 kV, designed for receiving and transmitting electricity to the grid.

ABC.AZ informs that according to Sergey Butskikh, general director of Akkuyu Nuclear JSC, this important event confirms equipment's readiness to supply electricity to the unified energy system of Turkey. The first unit of the station is 95% ready, and the launch is scheduled for 2026.

Akkuyu NPP is Turkey's first nuclear power plant with four power units of 1,200 MW each, built according to the Russian VVER generation 3+ project and implemented using the Build-Own-Operate model.
