September 18, Fineko/abc.az. American online store Amazon has announced that it will spend more than $1 bn on employee pay increases, as well as on health insurance and service costs.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the company, average hourly wage will be increased to $23, and taking into account other allowances - up to $30.

Thus, the annual salary of full-time employees will increase by an average of $1,600. In addition, the cost of compulsory health insurance and maintenance will be reduced by $5 per week, and additional voluntary expenses will be reduced by another $5. Starting in 2026, Amazon employees will pay 34% less for health insurance and services.

Currently, the company employs about 1.5 million people with full or partial staff worldwide.

At the end of last year, about 10,000 Amazon employees in the U.S. went on strike demanding better working conditions and a review of employment contracts.
