August 1, Fineko/abc.az. On August 2, the export of Azerbaijani natural gas through Turkey to Syria will begin.

ABC.AZ reports that an official event will be held in the Turkish city of Kilis on this occasion.

The new export route is important in terms of expanding energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria and intensifying Azerbaijan's activities in the Middle East region.

The project is also assessed as another successful result of Azerbaijan's policy of geographical diversification in energy exports.
