July 30, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, Azerbaijan's industrial products are sold in more than 70 countries around the world under brand Made in Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports, quoting IZIA press secretary Elchin Kazimov.
He noted that the number of exporting countries is growing every year.
"For example, last year, for the first time, exports of products made in industrial zones to South Africa, Yemen, Argentina and other countries began. Also in 2024, for the first time, a new type of products manufactured in industrial zones were exported. For example, Azerbaijan began exporting electrodes, wallpaper, shoes and other products for the first time last year. So, if earlier the demand for this type of product in our country was met by imports, now, thanks to the production in our industrial zones, Azerbaijan has become an exporter of these products. This helps to prevent the outflow of currency from our country and expand export opportunities," Kazimov said.
It is planned to create a new industrial park in the suburbs of Ganja.
Kazimov noted some statistical indicators: "The production of the first products in industrial zones began at the end of 2015 in the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park. From 2015 to the 1st half of 2025, 17.2 billion manats worth of products were sold in industrial zones, of which 5.53 billion manats were exported. In the 1st half of 2025, sales in industrial zones amounted to 1.83 billion, and products for approx. 583.5 million manats are exported. Compared with Jan-Jun 2024, sales increased by 28.7%, while exports by 22.4%. Entrepreneurs have invested more than 6.9 billion manats in industrial zones and created more than 10,900 permanent jobs.
"From all that has been said, it is clear once again that industrial zones are a favorable platform in terms of economic diversification. The issue of creating industrial zones is within the competence of the head of state. It is planned to create a new industrial park in the suburbs of Ganja in the near future," Kazimov said.
