June 15, Fineko/abc.az. Annual inflation in Canada rose to 1.9% in June from 1.7% in May. The causes are an increase in the price of durable goods and slowdown in the decline in gasoline prices.
ABC.AZ informs that according to the Statistical Office, the underlying inflationary pressure remains. Excluding energy, the CPI increased by 2.7%. The impact was caused by rising car prices and the end of deflation in the energy sector.
The trade war with the U.S. creates additional pressure. Since July 15, Canada has imposed retaliatory duties on $30 billion, which has already affected the economy and increased inflationary risks.
