July 4, Fineko/abc.az. The Accounts Chamber has prepared proposals for improving public procurement.

ABC.AZ reports that ACA chairman Vugar Gulmamedov made the relevant statement at a seminar on the theme "Audit of public procurement – practice and innovations" in Baku.

He added that the proposals include improving legislation in this area, increasing accountability and enhancing transparency.

The chairman noted that public procurement is one of the main mechanisms of effective public administration and financial control.

According to Gulmamedov, the application of the recently adopted Law on Public Procurement has significantly increased the volume of public procurement. Nevertheless, certain difficulties arise in the implementation of the new legislation and there are aspects that need to be improved.
