ABC.AZ reports that First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev said this at the international conference "Azerbaijani pharmaceutical industry: Yesterday, today and tomorrow" held in Baku today.
Aliyev noted that in 2024 alone, Azerbaijan imported 862 million manat (about $507 million) worth of pharmaceutical products in 2024:
“Our dependence on imports is very high. To prevent this, work is underway to attract investment. Entrepreneurs have invested more than 6.9 billion manats (about $4 billion) in industrial zones.
