April 22, Fineko/abc.az. On Tuesday, April 22, the price of gold again updated its historical maximum, rising above $3,500 per ounce, according to trading data.

At the moment, June bullion futures were rising to $3,504.2 per ounce. The precious metal has grown almost by 30% since the beginning of this year.

The latest driver of gold's growth was U.S. President Donald Trump's criticism of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. According to Bloomberg, investors fear for the future independence of the American Central Bank.

Wall Street investment houses have become increasingly positive about gold. Goldman Sachs strategists predict that the metal could reach $4,000 per ounce in the middle of next year.
