Klaus Schwab resigns as chairman of World Economic Forum

April 21, Fineko/abc.az. Klaus Schwab, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the World Economic Forum, announced his "immediate retirement" from his post, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the WEF press service.

In his address to the Board of Trustees, the 87-year-old founder of the organization noted: "Following my recent announcement and as I enter my 88th year of life, I have decided to step down as chairman and member of the Board of Trustees with immediate effect," he said.

At an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Trustees on April 20, 2025, Klaus Schwab's resignation was accepted, according to the published document. In accordance with the rules and regulations of the WEF, the Council unanimously appointed Vice-Chairman Peter Brabeck-Letmate as Interim Chairman. A search committee was also formed to select the future head of the organization.
