April 9, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's State Budget deficit will shrink to 2% of GDP in 2026, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The budget deficit is expected to be 2.4% of the country's GDP in 2025.
"Revenue is forecast at 30% of GDP in 2025, reflecting tax revenue of 12%, nontax revenue of 7%, and transfers from SOFAZ of 11%. Budget expenditure is projected at 32% of GDP, with 19% for current expenditure and 11% for capital outlays. Social protection and support expenditures are projected to rise by 8% and represent about 12% of total budget expenditure. Public investment outlays are projected to decline to 2% of GDP."
In 2024, the State Budget deficit amounted to 0.0004% of GDP, and in January-February of this year, the State Budget surplus reached 7.2% of GDP.
