April 8, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese automakers are showing steady growth in the European market, despite high tariffs.
ABC.AZ informs that according to research firm Dataforce, European sales of Chinese companies rose 64% year-on-year to 38,902 cars in February, while their share in Europe rose to 4.1% from 2.5% last year.
This increase comes amid duties of up to 35.3% on Chinese electric vehicles, introduced last October in addition to the existing tariff of 10%. The duties, which will be in effect for five years, have pushed Chinese manufacturers to adopt new strategies to maintain their European expansion.
