TikTok to be fined for possible data transfer from EU to China

April 4, Fineko/abc.az. The Irish Data Protection Commission will fine TikTok, a service owned by Chinese company ByteDance, for $500 million for allegedly transferring data from European users to China.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg, that the decision on imposition of a fine will be made before the end of April. The reason for the possible sanctions was investigation into violations of the EU Regulation on personal data protection by the service.
