April 2, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of February 2025, the number of payment cards in circulation in Azerbaijan increased by 273,000 against the previous month and reached 20.239 million cards.

ABC.AZ informs, with reference to the CBA, that compared to the same period of 2024, this figure increased by 16.7%.

The number of debit cards grew by 19.2%, while the number of credit cards by 0.1%.

The rise in the number of payment cards has had positive impact on the volume of non-cash payments. Thus, during the month, the volume of non-cash transactions within the country increased 1.3-fold versus the 2024 same term.

In February 2025, the volume of non-cash payments within the country made using cards reached 7.133 million manats. E-commerce accounts for 6.210 million manats of non-cash payments. Of the remaining amount, 918 million manats were sold through POS-terminals and 3.3 million manats through self-service terminals. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of non-cash domestic transactions with payment cards has made up 67.5% of domestic card transactions.
