April 1, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has stopped publishing data on weekly currency auctions. The last official information about the currency auction was published on February 27, 2025.
ABC.AZ reports that a request has been sent to the CBA in this regard.
The CBA informed that at the end of February, at a meeting of the CBA chairman with representatives of the press, information about this was provided.
"Currently, the CBA continues to hold currency auctions twice a week. Given the stability of the exchange rate generated at currency auctions and the full satisfaction of demand from banks, the provision of information on the results of currency auctions by the Central Bank is not considered actual. At that, we would like to note that information on the level of bank's foreign exchange reserves at the end of each month is published monthly on CBA’s website. The dissemination of this information will continue as before," the statement says.
Milli Majlis MP Vugar Bayramov, commenting on this issue, noted that it is important that the CBA regularly provides information on currency auctions.
"Because it generally serves to determine demand in the foreign exchange market, as well as to evaluate supply. It is advisable that the CBA, as in previous periods, regularly, that is, daily, share information about currency auctions. We propose to continue the past practice in this direction," Bayramov said.
