February 28, Fineko/abc.az. TikTok, the operator of the Chinese short video sharing service, plans to invest $8.8 billion in the construction of data centers in Thailand within 5 years.
ABC.AZ reports that TikTok's vice president of public policy, Helena Lersh, stated about this during an event in Bangkok on Friday.
In January, the Thai Investment Board announced plans for Tik Tok to invest $3.8 billion in the country. At the moment, it is unclear whether this amount is included in the total amount of investments announced by Lersh.
The number of Tik Tok users in Thailand is over 50 million.
