Starbucks to lay off 1,100 corporate employees

10:39 - 25.02.2025

February 25, Fineko/abc.az. Starbucks Corp., which owns the world's largest chain of coffee shops, will cut 1,100 corporate employees, ABC.AZ reports, quoting company's chief executive officer, Brian Niccol.

The layoffs will not affect employees of coffee shops, as well as those employed in production, roasting, warehouses and distribution.

In addition, Starbucks has decided not to fill several hundred open vacancies.

The measures will simplify the corporate hierarchy, eliminate duplication of authority and help the company become more focused, the CEO noted.

"We believe these changes are necessary for the future success of Starbucks," he said.

As of September 2024, Starbucks had 16,000 corporate employees.
