Goldman Sachs raises its forecast for oil prices

12:09 - 31.01.2025

January 31, Fineko/abc.az. Goldman Sachs raised its forecast for Brent crude oil prices for 2025 by $2 per barrel to $78 per barrel and forecast for 2026 by the same amount to $73 per barrel.

ABC.AZ informs that this follows from an analytical note published the day before.

While US policy uncertainty remains high, a combination of factors such as the containment of OPEC+ production potential, Washington's desire to ensure energy dominance and affordable prices, as well as the strategic management of America's oil reserves will support oil prices in the range of $70-85 per barrel.

The price of Brent crude oil may temporarily rise to $93 per barrel if supplies are reduced by 1 million b/d due to sanctions, the bank said, citing a potential increase in pressure on Iran and Russia.

Earlier, in a note dated January 12, Goldman stated that in such a scenario, prices could rise to $90 per barrel.
