January 7, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakh company KazMunayGas claims to purchase the oil refinery of Russian PJSC Lukoil located in Bulgaria.

ABC.AZ informs that Litasco SA, the main shareholder of Lukoil Neftohim Burgas AD, and its affiliated company have already accepted offers from several potential buyers, including KazMunayGas, the sources said on condition of anonymity.

The Kazakh company is discussing financing a potential acquisition with Vitol Group, the world's largest independent oil trader and a major player in Kazakhstan. KazMunayGas expects the sale process to take about a month. The price could be around $1 billion, and although Litasco is not subject to sanctions, the condition for the sale is a guarantee that the money will not be transferred to Russia.
