December 25, Fineko/abc.az. An AZAL passenger plane flying from Baku to Grozny crashed at Aktau airport in Kazakhstan. The plane from Baku was unable to land in Grozny due to fog and was redirected to Makhachkala and then Aktau, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the airport of the capital of Chechnya.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan says there may be survivors at the crash site.
According to media reports, there were 67 passengers and five crew members on board the crashed plane.
The preliminary cause of the plane crash in Aktau was a collision with a flock of birds, AZAL reports.
