December 24, Fineko/abc.az. Greece and Israel have signed an agreement to promote regional energy stability and projects in the Eastern Mediterranean. ABC.AZ reports that the agreements include a project to connect Israel's energy system with the EU through Greece.
In a separate track, Greek network operator ADMIE is discussing with Bulgaria a new electrical connection route that will run along the Greece-Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Germany axis. The project's budget is estimated at more than 8 billion euros.
The Green Aegean Interconnector with capacity of 3 GW (up to 9 kW in the future) is included in the preliminary plan of the Ten-year development Program for 2025-2034. An alternative scenario involves a route to Central Europe via Hungary.
