Currency coming to Azerbaijan from electricity sold to Georgia has decreased - Cause

 November 22, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijani electricity is sold cheaper to Georgia.

ABC.AZ reports that this year the largest energy buyer sold electricity to Georgia for about $52 per 1,000 kWh.

This is about $10 or 16% cheaper than last year's prices per thousand kWh.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in the first 3 quarters of 2024, Azerbaijan exported 765.85 million kWh of electricity to this country. The cost of this electricity was $39.5 million.

Compared with the 2023 same term , exports fell by 48%. For example, last year 1.48 billion kWh of electricity was exported for $90.67 million.

Georgia imported electricity in 2023 for $1.246 bn, including for $1.85 bn from Russia and for $156 million from Azerbaijan.
