October 25, Fineko/abc.az. The full commissioning of the Khizi-Absheron wind farm is scheduled for the last quarter of next year.
ABC.AZ reports that Javid Abdullayev, the head of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, said abou this at an event dedicated to the delivery of blades to the station at Baku Shipbuilding Plant LLC.
He adedd that by the end of this month, parts of 8 wind turbines will be delivered to the area: "One of the blades has length of 84 m. And the installation height is more than 100 m. It is planned to install 12 such turbines on the territory of Absheron, and 25 in Khizi. The base of the six turbines is already ready. Sufficiently large foundations are equipped for a turbine. In short, the logistical difficulties have been eliminated, and the turbines have been delivered to Azerbaijan. The production of the turbines is fully completed, and the parts are delivered to the addresses by appropriate vehicles."
Abdullayev stressed that the commissioning of the plant means the release of up to 220 million cu m of natural gas: "These volumes can be exported, which will prevent the release of more than 400,000 tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere and provide electricity to 300,000 homes."
