August 22, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for benchmark crude oil grades are falling in Thursday's trading session after hitting their lowest levels since January in the previous session.
The price of the October futures contract for Brent crude on the ICE Futures exchange fell by $0.02 (0.03%) to $76.03 per barrel by 09:50. At the close of trading on August 21, the October Brent crude futures contract had dropped by $1.15 (1.49%) to $76.05 per barrel.
Meanwhile, the price of the October futures contract for WTI crude on the NYMEX commodity exchange decreased by $0.13 (0.18%) to $71.80 per barrel by 09:50. At the end of trading on August 21, the October WTI crude futures fell by $1.24 (1.69%) to $71.93 per barrel.
According to data from Dow Jones Market Data, Brent crude hit its lowest level since January 2, while WTI crude reached its lowest point since January 10, 2024.
