MP: Economy grew entirely at expense of non-oil/gas sector

May 23, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, the macroeconomic environment for the execution of the State Budget in Azerbaijan was satisfactory, the economy experienced growth, which was fully provided by the non-oil/gas sector.

ABC.AZ informs that MP Tahir Mirkishili said about this at a meeting of the Committee heads during the discussion of the Bill on the Execution of State Budget 2023.

"Although last year production of GDP in Azerbaijan was projected at 111.6 bn mantas, the actual figure was 123 bn manats. Real GDP growth rate is 1.1%. The value of GDP per capita in the country amounted to 12,100 manats with an increase of 0.5%. Real GDP growth rate for the non-oil/gas sector was 3.7%, the share was 63.2%, real GDP growth rate for the oil & gas sector was1.7%, the share was 36.8%. Despite the fact that the budget price of oil was taken from $60, average annual price of a barrel of “black gold” of Azeri Light grade is 43.5% higher – $86.1. Nominal incomes of the population in Azerbaijan increased by 12.8% up to 78.1 bn manats," he said.
