Turkish Airlines intends to buy 235 aircrafts

April 30, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish Airlines is negotiating with aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing about purchase of 235 aircrafts from them as part of its development strategy.

ABC.AZ informs that the statement was made by Ahmet Bolat, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the national airline of Türkiye.

"We’re negotiating with Airbus and Boeing to purchase 235 aircrafts," he said at a meeting in Istanbul with representatives of Airbus and Rolls-Royce.

The 10-year development plan of Turkish Airlines envisages an increase in company's fleet almost by 600 aircrafts. In December 2023, Turkish Airlines announced an agreement with Airbus on purchase of 355 aircrafts (A312 Neo, A350-900, A350-1000, A350F) from a European manufacturer for $70 billion.

Currently, the Turkish Airlines fleet consists of 440 aircrafts, mainly of the new generation (Airbus and Boeing). The company is one of the world's leading air carriers.
