April 6, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan establishes the new requirements for production of tobacco output.

ABC.AZ reports that this matter is reflected in the amendment to the Law on Tobacco & Tobacco Products, discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agrarian Policy.

Under the amendment, the conditions for registration of business entities engaged in production of tobacco products will be as follows:

- investments for purchase of equipment for at least 34 million manats;

- absence of overdue obligations on taxes and other mandatory payments in Azerbaijan, as well as absence of a valid decision that he is a risky taxpayer in accordance with the Tax Code of Azerbaijan;

- presence of a document confirming the right of ownership, use or lease of the object on which economic activity is carried out, registered by tax authorities;

- availability of a certificate of assessment of measuring instruments to be used for production of tobacco products, a certificate of type approval of a standard sample or measuring instrument, as well as documents on conformity assessment of devices, instruments, measuring instruments and test equipment in accordance with the Law on Technical Regulation;

- existence of a contract with a testing laboratory accredited in the relevant field (if the manufacturer does not have an accredited testing laboratory in the relevant field) to conduct quality and safety tests.

Registered business entities engaged in making of tobacco products in accordance with this law must comply with the requirements established by the body (institution) determined by the relevant executive authority regarding the volume of use of local tobacco raw materials (tobacco with a partially or completely removed middle vein) in production of tobacco products.
