March 11, Fineko/abc.az. The complex for car production, created by Azerbaijani-Uzbek joint venture Azermash CP LLC on the territory of the Hajigabul Industrial Quarter, is to be put into operation at the end of 2025.

ABC.AZ reports that Gulai Hasanova, executive director of the Association of Manufacturers of Machinery & Equipment, informed about this.

According to Hasanova, the complex with investment volume of 104 million manats is under creation on the basis of the memorandum of cooperation on expansion of production of motor vehicles in Azerbaijan, signed between the Economic Zones Development Agency, Uzavtosanoat JSC and Azermash CP LLC.

In November 2023, drilling of the foundation for construction of an automobile manufacturing enterprise (localization of the painting and welding stage) began. Works were carried out by Uzavtosanoat JSC and Azermash CP LLC. The newly-built plant will focus on the modernization of the assembly line, localization of the painting and welding stage. Here, first of all, preference will be given to the Cobalt, Onix, and Tracker models. The annual production capacity of the plant will be 30,000 vehicles.
