January 30, Fineko/abc.az. The most of U.S. visa applicants are refused.
ABC.AZ reports that it is noteworthy that for citizens of Armenia and Georgia, who have better relations with the U.S., the percentage of visa refusals is higher — 49% in Georgia and 51% in Armenia are refused in visa.
The indicator of the "U.S. visa" of Armenia is at the level of Turkmenistan – 51%. In the CIS, visas to the U.S. are reluctantly issued in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, where the rejection rate is 54% and 56%, respectively. As for Azerbaijan's closest neighbors, in Iran, where there is no American embassy at all, only 47% of citizens' visa applications end positively, 53% of Iranian citizens are refused. And in fraternal Türkiye, applications for a visa to the U.S. are treated more warmly – 80% of 100 people receive a positive response. In total, among the countries of the world, 2 countries receive 1,005 U.S. visas, these are the dwarf countries of Europe - Liechtenstein and Monaco.
Among other countries, the best recipients of a U.S. visa are Arab countries and close U.S. allies.
Thus, refusals make up only 2.5% in Qatar, 3.2% in Uruguay, 3.3% in Israel, 4% in Kuwait, 4.2% in the UAE, 4.4% in Malaysia and Cyprus, 4.8% in Oman, 4.9% in Taiwan, 5% in Saudi Arabia and 5.5% in Hong Kong. However, some countries were unable to obtain a visa to the U.S. in 2023 at all. While the republics of Micronesia, North Korea and Palau are not granted visas to the U.S., the refusal rate is 100%.
African countries are also territories where a visa to the U.S. is practically not issued. On average, 60-70% of visa applicants from African countries, that is, 6-7 out of every 10 people, receive a refusal response.
For example, the rejection rate is 62% in Eritrea, 68% in Djibouti, 70% in Senegal, 71% in Rwanda, 73% in Laos and 78% in Liberia.
