January 17, Fineko/abc.az. The country has completed the harvesting of agricultural products.
In 2023, the country harvested 1.01 million tons (or 5.9% less than in 2022) of potatoes, 1.825 million tons (0.1% more) of vegetables, 438,200 tons (6.6% less) of melons, 1.26 million tons (0.7% more) of fruits and berries, 224,500 tons (5.6% more) of grapes, 1,100 tons (12.3% more) of green tea leaves, 29,300 tons (0.2% less) of sunflower, 219,800 tons (1.3% less) of sugar beet, 6,300 tons (24.9% more) of tobacco and 276,100 tons (14.4% less) of cotton.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that compared with 2022, 2.8% more crops were harvested. Of the grain and leguminous crops produced in 2023, wheat amounted to 1.8 million tons, or 56.4%. The wheat yield was 33.8 quintals.
In addition, in 2023, 3.248 million tons of grain and leguminous crops in initial weight, including corn, were harvested from an area of 948,300 hectares, on average 33.0 quintals per hectare.
