Georgia to buy 3.017 bcm of natural gas from Azerbaijan

January 15, Fineko/abc.az. This year, 3.231 bcm of natural gas will be needed to meet Georgia's domestic demand. Of them, 99.6% will be purchased abroad.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the document on the balance of natural gas approved by the Government of Georgia for the current year.

Georgia plans to import 3.017 bcm of natural gas from Azerbaijan to meet demand.

According to the document, Georgia plans to import a total of 3.217 bcm of natural gas. Of this volume, 200 million cu m will be accounted for Russia.

Azerbaijan is the main exporter of this energy resource to Georgia. However, in 2023, Russia’s natural gas exports to Georgia increased significantly.
