January 10, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of 2024, construction of two new solar power plants with total capacity of 760 MW will begin in Azerbaijan, and work on a 240 MW wind farm will start in 2025.
ABC.AZ reports that Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov announced this on social network X.
It was noted that such an agreement was reached following the visit of the UAE President to Baku and the signing of a package of agreements on the development of green energy projects.
"As manifestation of our solidarity for the sake of Green World, we have agreed with the UAE to further strengthen our partnership. By the end of the year, we plan to start construction of two solar power plants with total capacity of 760 MW, and next year — one 240 MW wind farm," Shahbazov said.
