January 9, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are changing slightly in Tuesday’s trading after decline following the previous session.
The price of March’s Brent crude futures at the London ICE Futures Exchange rose by $0.03 (0.04%) to $76.15 per barrel by 09:32. Following the trading on January 8, Brent crude futures for March fell in price by $2.64 (3.35%) to $76.12 per barrel.
The price of WTI oil futures for February on the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) by 09:32 dropped by $0.05 (0.07%) to $70.72 per barrel. Following the trading on January 8, the price of February’s WTI oil futures slumped by $3.04 (4.12%) to $70.77 per barrel.
Analysts explain the drop in oil prices on Monday by the fact that Saudi Arabia will lower prices for all grades of oil for all regions in February. In particular, prices for Asian buyers will be reduced by $2 per barrel.
