January 7, Fineko/abc.az. Baku and Ashgabat are negotiating further swap gas supplies, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Iranian National Gas Company (NIGC).

According to NIGC, the transportation of natural gas from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan via Iran has been temporarily suspended: “Baku and Ashgabat are negotiating on this matter.”

It was noted that swap deliveries will be resumed after the two countries reach an agreement.

In accordance with the trilateral swap agreement signed on November 28, 2021 in Ashgabat, from January 2022, Iran began supplying natural gas from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan.
