January 7, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish Minister of Transport & Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu expressed a hope for the completion of work on implementation of the Zangezur Corridor by 2028.

ABC.AZ reports that Uraloglu said in an interview with Tvnet that the Zangezur Corridor is an important project for Türkiye, as it will provide the country with direct land communication with the countries of the Turkic world.

The minister stressed that positive messages have also been received from Armenia recently regarding participation in this project.

"The 43-km section of the route passes through the territory of Armenia. They, in turn, must complete the processes related to planning and tenders," he said.

Uraloglu stressed that Iran is also interested in participating in the Zangezur Corridor project: "Türkiye continues negotiations with Iran. The Zangezur corridor is important for Türkiye. We can help Iran join this project," he said.

The minister recalled that Türkiye continues to work on the construction of appropriate infrastructure on the 224-km section of the route passing through its territory.

"The work is planned to be completed in the next five years. Thus, the Zangezur Corridor Project can be fully implemented by 2028."
