Georgia sharply cuts electricity imports from Azerbaijan, but increases exports

December 22, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia imported 3.29 million kWh of electricity from Azerbaijan for $153.46 for Jan-Nov 2023.

ABC.AZ reports that these figures are reflected in the report of the Georgian National Statistics Office.

During this year, the cost of electricity imported from Azerbaijan has fallen 63-fold, or $9.5 million, and the volume by 126.18 million kWh, or 39.34-fold. Over Jan-Nov 2022, Georgia imported 129,471 kWh from Azerbaijan for $9.658 million.

In 2023, the cost of electricity exported by Georgia grew by 22.6% year-on-year up to $103.296 million.
